Description:
In a dystopian Ireland, Daithí, a grieving widower, lives in isolation.
Haunted by the past and cocooning himself away from danger he lives in repetitive solitude.
His only companion is CARA, an artificial intelligence confined to a homemade terminal.
Yet, locked away in away deeper in his compound is something far more precious - ROBYN, or rather, the fragmented digital reconstruction of his late wife.
Desperate to preserve her memory, Daithí spends his days painstakingly refining her personality and with CARA’s guidance, chasing the illusion of bringing her back.

Traces blends the atmospheric isolation of Blade Runner, the sterile tension of Severance, and the desolate unease of 28 Days Later to craft a quiet, melancholic, and subtly unsettling tone.

Traces came from myself and my creative partner - Paul Mahon - love for genre film, especially sci fi. We both loved the idea of creating something visually striking and exciting that have all the hallmarks or your classic sci-fi adventure yet retaining that rural Irish setting that feels both so desolate and comforting at the same time.

This has been an ambitious passion project from top to bottom and are extremely proud of what we have achieved.
